The NGO was founded by Ms Annarose Clarisse, at the age of 22 years who was inspired to set it up following attendance of the United Nations Youth Assembly in August 2016 at the UN headquarters in New York. Keen to facilitate access to such opportunities for local youth and to work towards projects that contributed towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the first AGM for UN Youth Seychelles was held on December 08, 2016 in order to promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and create a global network of socially-aware youth committed to achieving the SDGs. Thereafter, numerous projects were developed and implemented focused on youth empowerment and the SDGs.

  4. Creating opportunities for youth to lead in their cause and offer recognition of their efforts and achievements
  5. Engage youth in local, national and global decision-making to achieve goals of the United Nations
  6. Develop youth to be solution oriented, globally conscious and live as world citizens.
  7. Encouraging a global network of youth committed to achieving the global goals through collaborative efforts and exchange of experience.

Strategic Plan for the year 2021-2023

Picture
This document reinforces the goals and objectives that will guide UNYS desired destination.
It outlines a strategic/divisional approach and most importantly to ensure succession planning and value delivery for our members and surrounding community in Seychelles.

UNYS stands today as a youth-led, non-profit organisation in Seychelles and we aim to keep the level of professionalism and good governance as an institution. With this Strategic Plan we are on the path of greater success for many years to come.

The Strategic Plan remains an internal document however, we want to reassure our partners and supporters that we continue to strive for progress and results. We thank all our members for their contribution and devotion towards this process and ensuring UNYS objectives and values are always at the core of our ways of working keeping the greater vision for our country.

Our Logo

Our logo was expressly designed to incorporate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and youth of Seychelles. In the middle we have the shape of one of the 115 islands in Seychelles. The biggest and most inhabited one. This is surrounded by 17 spikes on the sides represent the 17  which are the global goals that UN Youth Seychelles vowed to contribute towards. The shape  outlined represents the Coco de mer. The biggest nut in the world found in Seychelles and on the far right we have a representation of youth holding the Seychelles flag.
