UNYS Board of Advisors

UN Youth Seychelles (UNYS) has a Board of Advisors appointed for a term of two years. The Board of Advisors has an advisory role to the organisation on various matters. The Internal Advisor primarily advises on matters relating to the function of the organisation and its projects while the External Advisors focus on project outreach and recommended relationships to other organisations. The Board of Advisors are not accountable for UNYS' decisions, and approval powers and accountability of the organisation remains with the Board of UNYS. Mr Daniel Gordon, Miss Raghavi Naidu and Mr Wellington Manjengwa  have been long contributors of UNYS and have promoted the growth of the NGO in various ways. It is only fitting that now they continue in formal roles that recognise and strengthen their support.

Affiliation with the International Peace Youth Group (IPYG)

The purpose of IPYG is to gather and unite youth associations from around the world in support of the development of their communities and in motivating their nation to actively pursue peace. UNYS is expected to ​
  • Maintaining regular contact with IPYG liaison
  • Updating IPYG liaison on contact changes and structural changes
  • Communicating with IPYG liaison in a timely manner on the matters of cooperation
  • Cooperating on peace projects based on mutual consultation
  • Complying in all respects with IPYG Affiliation Principles and Affiliation Agreement
  • Sharing information or news about youth in respective country and region
  • Sharing information when events or activities are organized or co-organized
 

Affiliation with the Seychelles National Youth Council (​SNYC)

In an event ​on March 7, 2017marking the 19th anniversary of the formation of the Seychelles National Youth Council (SNYC). UN Youth Seychelles became and affliated member of SNYC. The ceremony included speeches from key individuals within SNYC who have contributed to the council's progress and highlighted the council's development and great achievements over the years. It also officially introduced 3 new youth organisations as affiliated members, one of them being UN Youth Seychelles. UN Youth's membership with SNYC is valid for 3 years. ​

Relationship with the United Nations

UN Youth Seychelles (UNYS) is NOT affiliated with the United Nations (UN) or other UN Agencies/ Bodies. There are several UN Youth bodies around the world. Some of which are affiliated to the UN while others remain independent. At present, UNYS is an independent organisation.
